The Yucca Telecom fiber optic network will be built throughout the city. Building this modern network will require construction that may temporarily disrupt traffic, however every attempt will be made to minimize inconvenience to Portales.

Construction to lay down fiber will continue through 2006. Yucca has hired MP Nexlevel to lay the fiber and they will be working closely together for the duration of the project.

The Yucca fiber network will be constructed in phases (see the map above). As fiber is laid in each area of Portales, homes and businesses will be contacted in advance. Subscribers will receive significant savings if they connect to the network as it is being laid.

After construction crews have finished laying fiber in each area, it will be more expensive for them to return to connect individual premises, causing potential delays and additional installation costs for subscribers.
